This blog will capture our adventure into mobile home living. We will be moving from Massachusetts to Florida. From a large 2,600+ sq ft.including finished basement with 1 full and two 1/2baths, expanded Cape style home to a single wide 14' x 66' 1,016 sq ft. 1 bath mobile home. We are changing everything.........leaving family, friends and clients here, moving ourselves there! So, here is where I will journal this adventure using words, photos and video. I have been searching for blogs, videos etc. on others that have made this trek and find the infromation out there in cyber-space miniscule. My hope is to create something wonderful for our children and grandchildren so they can understand the why of it all. And so Joe and I can understand it too. We know it's warmer there and that is appealing, but it is more than the weather, there is something pulling us to make this change. We both feel it, it is where we are meant to be for this part of our journey and maybe for the rest of it......time will tell. For now we are keeping the house in MA for a few years.....at least that is the plan right now.
Yesterday, January 2, 2012 our application was accepted at a Mobile home park in Florida located on Lake Tarpon. There are a few home for sale in this park but one home in particular Joe and I, my name is Doreen, we feel very drawn to even though it is single wide and older. There are features about it and it's lot we love and will share once we actually own it. We are leaving the 23rd of Jan to see it in person, although I must say that using Google Maps has caused me to feel I have already been there, I love the age we are living in!!! Anyway, the plan is......we will view it the 23rd going straight there after landing in Florida. We will purchase it and hopefully before we leave on the 28th we will actually have the keys and ownership.........so exciting.
You will know because I will post photos and "the story" from our new home.
